The Tolsmas - 50 Years of Public Policy at Duke

“Public policy helped define what works well in our marriage.” 

John Tolsma PPS‘95 and Lee Ann Furrow-Tolsma PPS‘93 met as undergraduate public policy majors at Duke. They wholeheartedly support Sanford's mission and now serve on the board.

"Sanford has just excellence," says Lee Ann. "That's what we love about it. Excellence in every area."

John adds, "I don't think there's ever been a time when public policy matters more. Just asking questions about how do we bring people together, how do we think differently about stakeholders. That's the essence of public policy."
