During Duke's centennial year, the university celebrates the impactful research of faculty members like Anna Gassman-Pines, professor of public policy and psychology and neuroscience. Gassman-Pines is also Director of Graduate Studies (PhD Program) in the Sanford School of Public Policy.

Her research focuses on low-wage work, family life and the effects of welfare and employment policy on child and maternal well-being in low-income families.

This video features Gassman-Pines' work, along with Duke colleague Felipe De Brigard, associate professor of philosophy.
