Research Scientist
Ying Shi is presently a Research Scientist at Duke University and Postdoctoral Fellow at the Stanford Center for Education Policy Analysis. Prior to this she finished her Ph.D. in Public Policy from the Sanford School of Public Policy. Her research interests are in the economics of education and focus on the causes and consequences of educational inequality. Her dissertation research was supported by the American Educational Research Association Minority Dissertation Fellowship and the Horowitz Foundation for Social Policy. Shi received a M.A. in Economics from Duke University in 2013, a MSc. in Economics and Philosophy from the London School of Economics in 2011, and a B.A. from Rice University in 2007.
