Visiting Researcher

Wei Pan is a visiting researcher for the 2024-25 academic year, with sponsorship from the China Scholarship Council. Under the guidance of Professor Alexander Pfaff, her research examines the impacts of the interaction of poverty alleviation policies and protected areas in China.

She is a Ph.D. candidate in Institute of Geographic Sciences and Natural Resources Research, CAS in China. She holds a bachelor’s degree in land resource management. In her prior research, she concentrated on detecting the multidimensional impact of China’s Targeted Poverty Alleviation (TPA) policy and its heterogeneity. Her research interests primarily revolve around how the interactions between natural and social drivers lead to heterogeneous outcomes in policies and practices in rural areas.
