Thalia graduated from Duke in May 2022 with a Bachelor of Arts in English and minors in Creative Writing and History. In each of her four years as an undergraduate, Thalia won a departmental award from the Duke English Department for her short fiction. Thalia also co-founded Duke University Stand-up Troupe (DUST), Duke’s first and only student stand-up comedy performance group. Thalia is particularly interested in researching the history of Spain and Ibero-America, and how Iberian colonial legacies have profoundly shaped the world we live in today. Thalia worked as the Program Assistant for the Hart Leadership Program from fall 2019 through fall 2021, and she is excited to return to Hart and the broader Sanford community. Thalia has also worked as the newsletter writer for News Not Noise with Jessica Yellin. In her free time, Thalia enjoys cooking, writing fiction, listening to podcasts, and making paper art.
