Visiting Researcher
Tanmay Singh is a visiting researcher for the fall semester of 2024 at the Sanford School of Public Policy with sponsorship from the Jan Wallander and Tom Hedelius Foundation (Hedelius Scholarship/Sweden). Under the guidance of Professor Subhrendu Pattanayak, his research examines the impacts of ethnic politics on gender empowerment in developing countries.
Tanmay is a PhD candidate in Economics at Jönköping University in Sweden. In his prior research, he concentrated on assessing the causal effects of populist state leaders on economic policy measures and mainstream party positioning. His research interests primarily revolve around the interaction between the political economy of populism and economic development.
