Sam Carpenter

Administrative Intern

Sam Carpenter currently serves as a Fellow with the Program in American Grand Strategy. He received his B.A. in Public Policy from Duke University’s Sanford School of Public Policy in 2026 as a Four-County Area Trinity Scholar. During his time at Duke, he interned with several congressional committees and U.S. Central Command, with a focus on U.S. national security and foreign policy. His policy interests include U.S.-China relations, defense policy, and the Indo-Pacific. Outside of work, Sam is an avid Duke Basketball and Cincinnati Bengals fan and enjoys all things aviation.
