Project Planner I

Rita Masese is the Project Manager for the Ghanaian Migrant Health Study at the Duke Sanford School of Public Policy, where she supports the design, implementation, and coordination of a large NIH-funded study examining the health and social experiences of Ghanaian immigrants in the United States. Prior to joining Sanford, Rita held a research leadership role at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where she coordinated a multi-site global health and bioethics study focused on equity, community-engaged research, and the ethical inclusion of underrepresented populations in clinical trials.


Rita holds a Master of Science in Global Health from Duke University and a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBChB) from the University of Nairobi. Her professional interests include immigrant health, research ethics, health equity, and capacity building in global and community-based research.
