Senior Public Relations Manager
Nicole Filippo joins Sanford's communications team after serving as the communications director for the Duke Center for International Development (DCID).
Prior to joining Duke in Feb. 2023, she was the communications manager for Elon University’s Martha and Spencer Love School of Business. In addition to leading communications, marketing and event strategies for the school, she supported students as an academic advisor and served as the co-advisor for the university's chapter of the American Marketing Association.
Earlier in her career, Nicole held roles as an education and meeting planner for the National Home Furnishings Association and marketing assistant for the High Point Market Authority's Press Center.
Nicole is a Certified Meeting Professional (CMP) and serves as the current president of the Meeting Professionals International (MPI) Carolinas Chapter. She is also a past board member of the American Marketing Association (AMA) Triangle chapter.
Nicole earned both a bachelor’s degree in corporate communications and an MBA from Elon University.
