Matthew W. Maury is a Research Associate at the Center for Child and Family Policy, where he works on the Baby’s First Years project with Dr. Lisa Gennetian.
Prior to joining the Center, Matt worked as a Senior Research Analyst at the Center on Poverty and Social Policy (CPSP) at Columbia University’s School of Social Work. At the CPSP, Matt oversaw data management and analysis associated with the Poverty Tracker and Early Childhood Poverty Tracker studies. His research focused on experiences of poverty and material hardship, economic mobility, and the impact of public policies such as NYC’s 2014 paid sick leave law and changes to “public charge” determinations by the federal government.
Matt holds a Master of Public Administration in Public and Nonprofit Management & Policy from The Robert F. Wagner Graduate School of Public Service at New York University, as well as a Bachelor of Science in statistics and sociology from George Washington University.
