Project Coordinator, The Center for Child & Family Policy

Laronda Blessing joined the Center for Child and Family Policy in February 2019 as a senior research aide for the BELLA Professional Development Program, which examined the efficacy of a professional development program on multilingual students’ literacy and language skills. She is currently the project coordinator for BELLA Online, which will develop and pilot an online version of the BELLA Professional Development Program. Prior to joining the Center, Blessing worked in Durham Public Schools coordinating an after-school enrichment program as well as school pantry programs. Before her work in elementary schools, Blessing taught English as a Second Language to adults in Minnesota and Iowa.

Blessing received a BA in Political Science from the University of Minnesota and a Master of Public Policy from Duke University, where her master’s project examined gaps in parent support services in Durham County
