Analyst, IT
Kirk joined Duke in 2009 and celebrated fifteen years of service with OIT before joining Sanford in August of 2024. For the last two-plus years he enjoyed supporting faculty and staff on Science Drive in the Biology and Chemistry departments. Before that experience, he worked in downtown's American Tobacco Campus serving the IT needs of various in-house and on-campus groups. His IT experience ranges from hardware and software troubleshooting, problem-solving, systems administration responsibilities, IT purchasing and procurement, consulting, training, and more. He greatly enjoys customer service and meeting the needs of his customers and co-workers through servant leadership.
Kirk is from the Midwest, grew up in Wisconsin, Iowa, and has a Secondary Education degree from Northern Iowa, and taught high school English and Speech for a few years out of college. He and his wife Elizabeth have called the Triangle home since moving here in 1998. They live in Cary and have two children, Colin and Eva. In his spare time, he likes to spend time with family and friends. His hobbies include being outdoors hiking and running. He enjoys music and various podcasts, likes to keep up with news, politics, world events, travel, food, and culture. He likes to keep a positive, humorous outlook on things. Take your responsibilities seriously, but yourself — not so much.
