Jon Colon is the Director of Global Careers at the Sanford School of Public Policy, Duke University. With over 12 years of experience in the education sector, including 9 years in higher education career services, Jon is deeply committed to supporting a diverse student body, including international students who face unique challenges in the U.S. job market. He has a strong track record of advising international students at institutions such as National University, where he helped students navigate obstacles like work authorization restrictions, cultural adjustments, and competition with native job seekers. Jon’s expertise includes career advising, event organization, and employer relations, with a focus on preparing all students for the global job market by helping them build the necessary skills, social connections, and professional networks. He holds a Master of Arts in Secondary Education from Roosevelt University and a Bachelor of Arts in Business from Michigan State University. Outside of work, Jon enjoys golfing with friends and spending time with his dog, Paco.
