Deborah Hill has more than 26 years of experience in communications, science writing, and strategic planning. She was appointed Associate Dean of Communications at Duke University’s Trinity College of Arts & Sciences in 2012. She led the school’s website infrastructure transition and established internal communications. Prior to this position, she was the Director of Communications and Marketing at the Pratt School of Engineering, where she was instrumental in raising the national visibility of engineering at Duke through publications and digital media. Her work has been recognized by the Council for Advancement and Support of Education. Before joining Duke in 2003, she worked in research administration, communications and science writing positions at the Department of Energy’s Idaho National Laboratory for subsidiaries of Westinghouse and Lockheed Martin. She was also a contributing correspondent for Science Magazine’s ScienceNOW online news section. She holds a B.A. degree in anthropology.
