Director, MIDP Admissions, Student Accounts, and DCID Visiting Scholars

Danny "Dayne" Hamrick oversees admissions and student accounts for the MIDP program, which attracts mid-career professionals from across the globe. He also manages the Duke Center for International Development visiting scholar program. Prior to this position, Hamrick worked as a research analyst at the Duke Global Value Chain Center where he conducted GVC analysis for a variety of clients, including the U.S. Department of Defense, World Bank, Organization of American States and USAID. His work at Duke GVCC primarily focused on agriculture and global health. He holds a Ph.D. in sociology from North Carolina State University where he used the GVC framework to study the development potential of niche products, specifically goods that have geographical indication labels. Danny also holds a Master in International Studies from North Carolina State University and a BA in Spanish Language and Literature with a double minor in Global Trade and Commerce and Latin American Studies from Wake Forest University.
