Visiting Scholar

Bouasone Sengsourivong is a visiting scholar for the spring semester of 2025 at Duke University’s Sanford School of Public Policy with sponsorship from Fulbright-U.S.-ASEAN. Collaborating with Professor Edmund Malesky, her research concerns the role of public service links to poverty dynamics.

Bouasone is a senior economist at the Faculty of Economics and Business Management, National University of Laos. She got a Ph.D. in economics at Hiroshima University in Japan in 2020. Agricultural economics, environmental economics, and public economics are among her areas of interest. Papers and publications by Bouasone can be found in both national and international journals. She has experience working with national and international projects, including Circular Economy Living Laboratories Supporting Social Innovation in Southeast Asia (CIRCULAR) under ERASMUS+, The Economy and Environment Partnership for Southeast Asia (EEPSEA) supported by Sida, and the Technical Assistance for Customs and Trade Facilitation supported by the World Bank.
