Associate Director for Administration, Duke Center for Child and Family Policy
Beverly Thorpe, associate director for administration, has been with the Center for Child and Family Policy since August 2017. She oversees administration and business planning for the Center for Child and Family Policy, including functions such as finance, budget, personnel, space and facilities planning, grants administration, and policy interpretation and dissemination. She also supervises the administrative staff who provide support to researchers at the Center.
Thorpe has extensive experience in budget development, financial reporting, large-scale grants and contracts administration, and project management. Prior to the Center, she has worked with several organizations during her professional career, including the National Audubon Society, Inc. (Finance and Administration Manager), Amtrak (Senior Director of Grants Administration), Duke University School of Medicine (Grants and Contracts Manager), and NYU School of Medicine (Financial Analyst).
Thorpe earned both her B.S. and MPA from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
