Associate in Research in the DeWitt Wallace Center for Media and Democracy
Jessica is supporting the DeWitt Wallace Center with both the News Measures Research Project and the Tech and Check Cooperative. She previously worked with the News Measures Research Project in 2017. Prior to joining the DeWitt Wallace Center, she was a research associate supporting impact measurement at Democracy Fund where she also was a research fellow in 2015. She has also worked as a temporary research associate for the journalism team at Pew Research Center where she contributed to the center’s reports on 2016 presidential campaign communications, local news and civic engagement, and how people search for news during major news events. Her work has been published in Mass Communication and Society, Newspaper Research Journal, Journal of Sports Media, and the book Presidential Campaigning and Social Media: An Analysis of the 2012 Campaign. Jessica has a Ph.D. in mass communication, specializing in political communication, from the University of Florida, M.A.s in communication and sociology from East Tennessee State University, and a B.A. in religion from King College.
