Jennifer L. Jensen

Family Connects Nurse Trainer, Duke Center for Child and Family Policy

Bio:

Jennifer Jensen is a home visiting nurse and nurse trainer at Family Connects International. She visits newborns and their families at home to conduct comprehensive assessments, provide supportive guidance, and connect families to community resources as needed. She also trains nurses across the country who are implementing Family Connects in their communities. Jensen has a clinical background in the neonatal intensive care unit, in-home childbirth education and out-of-hospital birth. Prior to enrolling in nursing school, she was a foreign service officer in the U.S. Department of State and served in Accra and Shanghai.

She earned her B.S.N. from Johns Hopkins University in 2014 and a B.A. from Wellesley College in East Asian studies and economics in 2009.
