Danielle Zapotoczny (Dani), a former Duke public policy major, is interested in the role that public engagement, strategic communications and storytelling play in inspiring social action and creating policy change and explores this through her role as Accenture Visiting Professor of the Practice of Public Policy at Duke University.
Dani currently has two core responsibilities at the United Nations Foundation: Senior Director of Partnerships & Communications and Strategic Advisor to the United Nations Creative Community Outreach Initiative. She recently was a Strategic Advisor to Lucasfilm on the Star Wars Force for Change social action campaign and the UCLA Burkle Global Impact Initiative.
Prior to joining the UN Foundation, Dani served for nine years as a Producer and Vice President at Wheelhouse Entertainment where she oversaw development, production and marketing for writer/director Randall Wallace (Braveheart, We Were Soldiers, Pearl Harbor) and the company’s music, book and gaming properties. She managed relationships with the Walt Disney Company, Warner Bros., Paramount, Sony Pictures and co-produced the Vietnam War film We Were Soldiers.
For a decade, Dani donated her time as the Founding Executive Director of Hollywood for Habitat for Humanity, an entertainment industry partnership with Habitat for Humanity that helped hardworking families achieve their dream of homeownership.
