Join us for "The Future of Media in a Polarized, Big Tech World" featuring renowned journalist Barkha Dutt. In an era of unprecedented polarization and the dominance of big tech platforms, Dutt will delve into the evolving landscape of media and its intersection with technology, politics and society. Dutt will share her insights into the challenges and opportunities facing modern media, exploring the rise of influencers, political pushback against global elites and the electoral victories of right-wing factions. Dutt will also focus on broader geopolitical shifts, including the changing global order, the decline of American hegemony and the emergence of Asia as a dominant force on the world stage, with a particular focus on China and India. Following Dutt's presentation, Stephen Buckley, Eugene C. Patterson Professor of the Practice of Journalism and Public Policy, and Manoj Mohanan, Creed C. Black Professor and Professor in the Sanford School of Public Policy, Senior Associate Dean for Faculty and Research in the Sanford School of Public Policy, will join the discussion. She co-founded news platform Mojo Story and is a columnist for several world-renowned publications. Dutt received India's fourth-highest civilian honor, the Padmashri, and was recognized as a Global Leader for Tomorrow by the World Economic Forum. She studied at St. Stephen's College in Delhi and Columbia University in New York.
