Rangel Receives Award for Mentoring

Associate Professor Marcos Rangel has received a 2021 Dean’s Award for Excellence in Mentoring. The award is given annually by the Duke Graduate School to recognize faculty and PhD candidates who have a consistent record of excellence in mentoring students and junior scholars.

The recipients are selected by senior deans and students representing the major disciplines in graduate education at Duke.

Rangel will be presented with the honor, including a $3,000 award, by Graduate School Dean Paula McClain at a virtual ceremony on March 31. Seven other Dean’s Awards for excellence in teaching and for creating an inclusive environment in graduate education will be also be presented.
