Darity Receives Dean’s Award for Mentoring

William “Sandy” Darity, Samuel DuBois Cook distinguished professor of public policy, has received a 2020 Dean’s Award for Excellence in Mentoring. The award is given annually by the Duke Graduate School to recognize faculty and PhD candidates who have a consistent record of excellence in mentoring students and junior scholars.

The recipients are selected by senior deans and students representing the major disciplines in graduate education at Duke.

Darity will be presented with the honor, including a $3,000 award, by Graduate School Dean Paula McClain at a reception on March 25. Nine other Dean’s Awards for excellence in teaching and for creating an inclusive environment in graduate education will be also be presented.
