Boucher Named to 2021 School of Medicine LEADER Cohort
Nathan Boucher, assistant research professor of public policy and assistant professor of medicine, has been named to the Duke School of Medicine 2021 LEADER cohort. The Leadership Development for Researchers (LEADER) Program is a faculty development program for junior faculty who lead a research group and their own research agenda.
The 5-month program consists of a series of individual and group exercises, lectures and discussions. Session topics include emotional intelligence, mentoring skills, fostering inclusion in research, negotiation skills and conflict management. The program is designed to bridge the gap between the scientific expertise that led faculty to an academic career, and the skills needed to succeed as leaders of research teams, which are small business units.
