Globalization and the Rise of Trump: Economic Reasons for the Election Results

In this election, the losers of globalization revolted against the political and economic establishment. This was a powerful repudiation similar to the overthrow of other elites in the past, such as the aristocracy. The talk will discuss the ideological blinders that led to the current state of affairs. Dr. John Komlos is visiting professor of economics at Duke and former chair of economic history at the University of Munich.
