Development and Alumni Relations
Durice White Galloway is Sanford's Director of Alumni Engagement. Previously, she served as the Assistant Director of Development at Elon University. Durice has extensive experience in university advancement practices with special recognition and work in alumni engagement, annual giving and major giving.
A native of Bucks County, Pennsylvania, Durice moved to North Carolina in 2005 to attend Elon University where she received both her Bachelor of Science degree and Masters of Business Administration degree. Her passion for university advancement and alumni relations started when she interned in the office of alumni relations at Elon University. Two years after graduation, she was recruited to return to her alma mater to lead initiatives to enhance, revitalize and create new programming Elon alumni.
Durice Galloway prides herself on her positive spirit. She finds opportunities to coach and mentor staff, volunteers, and colleagues. Additionally, she is a firm believer in collaboration and teamwork. Diversity and diversity education has always been critical in her life and career which is evident though her professional experience and committee work at both Elon University and ALSAC/St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
Durice is a three-time Council for the Advancement and Support of Education (CASE) Stellar Speaker recipient and a CASE District III Platinum Category Best Practices in Fundraising Grand Award Recipient. Her most treasured awards, however, are the Elon University Phoenix Rising Award (equivalent to a new staff member of the year award) and the Elon University African & African American Studies Staff Member of the Year Award.
Durice enjoys spending time with her husband VJ Galloway and their son Camden and dog Tiger. She leads dance workshops and choreography for a local dance studio and the Elon University Dance Team, where she previously served as an Assistant Coach. She enjoys using dance to stay inspired and tap into her creativity.
