Lisa Buckley is honored to be joining the Sanford School as Program Coordinator for the Center for Strategic Philanthropy and Civil Society. She previously worked for eight years in the non-profit sector – first developing programs at an organization based in Washington DC and more recently as a grant writer at the Emily K Center in Durham. Lisa began her career as a middle school teacher in the beautiful Hudson Valley, not far from the town where her husband grew up.
Lisa earned a Master’s Degree in Environmental Management at the Nicholas School and a Master’s Degree in Regional Planning from UNC Chapel Hill. Her undergraduate degree is in History and Spanish from the University of Notre Dame. During her time in college, she spent a year studying and teaching in Spain, China, and Mexico City.
She enjoys listening to podcasts and watching her kids play baseball, sometimes at the same time.
