Mohanan appointed to Lancet Global Health Commission

Sanford Professor Manoj Mohanan has been selected to serve on the new Lancet Global Health Commission on High Quality Health Systems in the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) Era.  He is one of 30 commissioners from 18 different countries, which includes academics, policy-makers, government officials and community and patient advocates.  Mohanan is an assistant professor of public policy and economics, and an assistant research professor of global health.

The commission will focus on health system quality in low and middle income countries.  In addition to reviewing current knowledge of health system quality and measures, the commission will produce new empirical work and policy recommendations.  It will publish a report in late 2018 and release other related publications.  The work is supported by funding from the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation.
