Welcome to PPARC - Duke University's Population, Policy and Aging Research Center
PPARC, part of the Duke Population Research Institute (DuPRI), has facilitated demographic and biodemographic research since 1995. With National Institute on Aging funding, PPARC supports a wide range of research on aspects of aging, morbidity, mortality and longevity. The center's overarching goal is to explore the nature of, and limits to, the plasticity of longevity. (See the Plasticity of Longevity webcast.) A 2006 NIA-sponsored publication, The Future of Human Life Expectancy, reviews some findings and debates in the field.
